The Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht is a unique area with a vast wealth of riches, including our literary history, our language, folklore, music, arts, and stunning landscape and we would love to share some of this wealth with you through this photographic archive and give you a taste of a life that is constantly changing. The valuable treasures in this archive show the everyday lives and the social history of the peninsula over the past century and this collection enables us to provide a visual historical record from the Gaeltacht peninsula which is available to researchers, historians, anthropologists or anyone who is interested in life in Corca Dhuibhne. We are greatly indebted to the local community who generously shared their personal photographs with us and we hope that we will continue to add to this collection in the future. We would also like to acknowledge the Heritage Council for their support with this project.
